2017 West Chardonnay shows classic aromas of green apple and pear. The same flavors continue on the palate with notes of citrus, honey melon and a hint of vanilla. This wine has a smooth and silky mouthfeel and long, lingering finish. You can pair it with fish, seafood, chicken, duck and turkey and creamy vegetable dishes.
With Chardonnay we can go for a little more flavor and less acidity. A hard cheese like Comte, or a softer mature Brie, or a Port Salut all work well with rounded Chardonnay. There are many US creameries making their own versions of these French cheeses.
